On April 6, 2020 Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and First Lady Lauren Baker announced the establishment of a COVID-19 Relief Fund to assist Massachusetts residents who have been most impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.

“These are unprecedented and uncertain times, and the people of Massachusetts are struggling,” said First Lady Lauren Baker. “The Massachusetts COVID-19 Relief Fund will help us connect those who are most acutely impacted by the response to COVID-19 with the resources and services they need to get through this difficult time and stay safe, healthy, and supported.”

First Lady Lauren Baker and the One8 Foundation are teaming up with philanthropists, business leaders, Eastern Bank, The Boston Foundation, and the Foundation for Business Equity to raise funds for the relief effort, with $13 million raised to date. 100% of donations will serve Massachusetts individuals and families most in need, including:

  • Frontline healthcare professionals, first responders, and other essential workers
  • Households disproportionately impacted by COVID-19
  • Immigrant and undocumented populations
  • Individuals and families with food insecurity
  • Individuals with disabilities
  • Homeless populations

Grant decisions will be made by leadership of the fund. More information is available at https://www.macovid19relieffund.org.
